Kenyatta International Convention Center ( KICC ) is gearing up to host its largest annual event, the 21st edition of Buildexpo Africa to be held from May 3 to 5. The show catering to the construction industry is spread over the entire indoor and outdoor area of KICC with exhibitors participating from 40 countries.
According to the organizers, Buildexpo has grown in several aspects in 2018. The visitor registrations are much higher including top industry professionals such as builders, developers, architects, consultants, engineers, manufacturers, importers& distributors.In terms of exhibitors, the event will showcase a wider range of products and equipment also this year since there has been a focus on the mining, lighting, wood and water industry.
Countries dominant this year are Germany, China, India and Italy with several leading international brands looking to build a solid foundation in the East African market. Metallurgica Abruzzese S.P.A. (Italy), Bauer Maschinen Gmbh, Mbk Maschinenbau Gmbh(Germany), Masa Gmbh (Germany) Everest Industries Limited (India), Jet Granito Pvt. Ltd (India), Roser Co., Ltd (Korea), Nordimpianti System Srl (Italy) are some of the market leaders in their respective industries.
Another 50 plus companies from Kenya include key players such as Apex Steel, Davis & Shirtliff, Elite Tools Ltd, Matrix Precast, Tononoka Steel, Hytek Hydraulics, Formscaff, Digital City.
The event will also feature awards in innovation that will be presented to the most innovative products at the expo. This will be judged by the organizers and supporting organizations such as the NCA, KNCCI, Town and County Planners Association of Kenya and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.
Over the years, the Buildexpo has grown to cater to the demands of not just the Kenyan market, but of the whole region of East Africa. It has been projected as the ideal forum for international companies to showcase their products and services to the huge market.Visitors from across East Africa, and surrounding regions are invited directly in collaboration with regional trade bodies in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, Mozambique and Congo.
